Diane Walsh Sasaki is an executive coach and communications consultant with a deep specialisation in leadership development across the Asia-Pacific region. With over 40 years of experience in Japan and working throughout Asia, Diane combines a systemic approach with a strong focus on emotional intelligence (EQ) to motivate and inspire global teams toward high performance. Her client-centred coaching style ensures that leaders develop the mindset necessary for both professional achievement and human connection.
Diane’s career began in advertising at Sony Corporation in Tokyo and New York, and she has since worked across Asia in countries such as China, India, Thailand, and Malaysia. She coaches high-potential leaders and senior executives to transition effectively into new cultural environments, develop leadership skills, and drive team performance. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, diversity in global teams, cultural integration, and executive coaching.
Her coaching achievements include working with leaders across sectors such as finance, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and technology. She has successfully coached Japanese managers in leading global initiatives and guided senior executives in implementing change that resulted in measurable business improvements.
Diane holds an undergraduate degree in Far East Asian Studies from Sophia University in Tokyo and a Master's degree from Hunter College, City University of New York. She has been a certified coach since 2006 and is a member of the ICF Japan Chapter steering committee. Diane is also a former president of SIETAR Japan.
