Aya Usui is a leadership coach and facilitator with over a decade of experience in global HR, specialising in talent development, diversity, and sustainable leadership. Her coaching style is dynamic, fostering psychological safety and self-reflection to inspire authentic leadership. Aya partners with executives to challenge the status quo and unlock innovative thinking, with a focus on sustainable leadership, women’s leadership, and cross-cultural communication.
Aya has over 14 years of experience in Human Resources and Talent Management within the automotive and pharmaceutical industries in Japan and Europe. She designed a global talent development program for high-potential employees at Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and established the first Japan Inclusive Diversity Council while working for a global pharmaceutical company. Aya’s diverse experience enables her to help leaders develop leadership competencies and navigate cultural challenges across industries.
In addition to leadership coaching, Aya is dedicated to sustainability. She leads the Chikura Mirai Project, which focuses on preserving the culture and nature of Minamiboso City in Japan for future generations. She has also organized initiatives such as the Norway-Japan Sustainable Ocean Fest and the Palau-Japan 25th Anniversary Event, promoting sustainability and cross-cultural engagement.
Aya is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and holds certifications in Hogan Assessment, Lumina Spark, and Leadership. She is also a member of the Climate Coaching Alliance (CCA) and the International Coach Federation (ICF), serving as a co-lead of the CCA Japan.
